About Us

JUDOKAN, The House Of Gentle Way, has been inspired, founded & branded by Mahta & Kambiz Yousefi in August 2017.

Surprisingly our JUDO LIFE both started at the age of 16!

Every judoka has his/her own story…

Accompanying my elder brother SIAMAK who was KYU 3 brown belt that time I started judo training at one of the local government police & military club in 1986!

there were no standard tatami(judo mat) there but just a coarse handmade traditional wrestling mat!

It was the time to fall in love with judo art pushing me to Join one of the best DOJO in Iran capital Tehran, The Shahid Shiroodi Stadium & Sport Complex .

The huge 2 layered white leather air tent which standing high ceiling by 4 powerfully air compressors blower that accommodated 4 standard size tatami area for training Judo, Karate, Aikido, Taekwondo & other martial arts and activities.

The dojo was the hub of martial art, hosting the local and international tournaments, national team training camp and routine weekly judo and other disciplines training sessions.

Never to forget my first instructors sir Jawaheri, Tashakori & then sensei coach Zeinal that I have got the chance to train with them up to grading kyu1.

The Iran judo national team was one of the best between countries with its traditional free style wrestling back ground, most often standing on the podium in most weight categories such as world champions Mahmoud Reza Miran in 100+kg & Arash Mir Esmaeili in -63kg weight categories Gold medallists.

In a beautiful early morning in 2002, following recommendation to Iran judo federation for shodan test, I’ve successfully passed the requirements for black belt tested by the father of JUDO in Iran sensei Mohammad Keyhan(8th Dan).

Setting up TND JUDO TEAM in 2013 under guidance and supervision of head coach sir Rafael Haubert gave me the chance to train more than 150 judoka In more than 450 continuous judo training sessions for the next 4 years up to 2017.

It was such enough time to start training my daughter, study hard on judo philosophy and history, reviewing the details of throws and ground techniques, trying out the different countries’ judo training methods and tastes, learning a lot from the always welcomed masters and judo black belts who supported us by attending and sharing their knowledge and experiences with our club, getting experience on training junior’s ,cadets & seniors ,coaching the competition team on tournaments , passing the coach and referee courses and workshops held by UAEWJF , finally ended to creation of a modern unique training system applied today at JUDOKAN .

Having great attention to the realities, daily life out of the mat ,the difference between the individuals , student’s interests and targets, the personal capabilities, emphasising on the moral and ethic codes of judo ,as the Olympic sport and the one and only martial art discipline in Paralympic games , the mostly forgotten art and spiritual aspect of judo, terminology, respecting all the martial arts and disciplines, the legends and masters ,the athletes, champions & medalists, breaking any kind of EGO with the teammates, following “No Injury In Judo!” concept by precautionary care and codes in order to minimize
